Solution 1:

Instead of using

s.getBasicRemote().sendText(TwitterHoseBird.getMsgQueue().take());  

change it to

s.getAsyncRemote().sendText(TwitterHoseBird.getMsgQueue().take());  

and everything else would just workout fine
